FACE's Senate Farm Bill Statement

The FACE Ag Network responds to the Senate Farm Bill passing through the Ag Committee, and urges continued reforms to the bill.

The FACE Ag Network is disappointed that the Senate Agriculture Committee has advanced a Farm Bill that does not meet the needs of independent farmers or of Americans struggling to access safe, healthy food. Although the Senate bill includes some mandatory funding for critical local food programs, adopts long-overdue mandatory country of origin labeling, and excludes the harmful Save Our Bacon Act, it still overwhelmingly caters to industrial agriculture interests and should do more to restore funding for programs that directly support small and mid-sized farmers and keep healthy, humane food on tables. We urge Congress to work to pass a final Farm Bill that invests in the farming system Americans want and farmers deserve, supporting the transition to a more humane, resilient food system and excluding the Save Our Bacon Act or any similar attempts to preempt commonsense state laws.

WHAT WE’RE FIGHTING FOR

We believe that humane animal agriculture — not factory farming — is critical to our nation’s resilience and health.
